District 2B Interest Groups
(Participation in these groups is limited to members of garden clubs in District 2B of Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc.)
2B Crafters - Members of this group share an interest in all things crafty. Members share home and garden craft projects which could be sold at IIB meetings for fundraising. 2B Designers - Led by Lois Snover-Hanson (Meridian Garden Club), this group practices making different types of floral designs, shares techniques and materials, and plans flower shows for the district. 2B Photographers - This group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 pm at the Okemos Library Community Room. All skill levels are welcome. The only requirement is access to some type of camera (smart phones included). Educational events may include features of various types of cameras, adjusting your camera, techniques for specific types of pictures, and critiquing finished work. The group takes occasional photography field trips. To help with district fund raising they may share photos for printing note cards or framed pieces. 2B Youth Gardening - Led by Sharon Rodgers (Mason Sycamore Creek Garden Club), this group's members share an interest in working with young people. Topics might include getting children involved in gardening, working with a youth garden club, helping kids create floral designs for the December flower show, Smokey Bear Woodsy Owl competitions, growing and harvesting vegetables, and working with schools.
