April 6, 2024 1:00 PM Meet at Central Park Pavilion Meridian Historical Village Pruning Trees and ShrubsThat You Love Presented by Ron Perry Professor Emeritus MSU Department Horticulture Ron Perry earned both his MA and PhD degrees from Texas A&M. He subsequently joined the MSU De-partment of Horticulture specializing in fruit and physiology associated with pruning. He moved through the academic ranks and served as De-partment Chair for seven years. He also developed courses on fruit trees, grapes, wine appreciation, and pruning woody perennials particularly ornamental trees and shrubs. His recent book “Espalier Fruit Plantings for Northern Gardens” contains examples that are on display in the MSU Horticulture Gardens; 100% of the proceeds from sales of the book go to support the gardens. For his pruning demonstration, we will meet at the Central Park Pavilion and walk into the Historical Village, weather permitting. |
